Pat Washington, Secretary, joined NHS of Chicago in February 2008, as a marketing and public relations consultant in the Resource Development department, working on their annual awards dinner soliciting sponsorships and individual donations. Ms. Washington quickly began working on marketing and PR assignments for the Resource Development and Homeownership departments which lead to her heading up the team who produced the Fix Your Mortgage and Keep Your Home large scale events, assisting homeowners seeking assistance with foreclosure prevention between 2009-2010. Her responsibilities with these events included planning, managing and execution of events; managing partner relationships with servicers, community organizations and individuals; overseeing volunteer solicitations and training; and managing much of the media relations, marketing, advertising and PR associated with events. Pat is currently executive assistant to the president and manager of office operations.
With over 30 years of nonprofit experience in management and marketing, Pat’s background includes marketing and community outreach; program and project management, formation of strategic partnerships; and planning multifaceted large-scale and community-based events, fundraising, and individual donor solicitations. She also has an extensive background in the arts, ranging from performance, program management, fundraising, production and supporter. She has worked for organizations such as the Joffrey Ballet, the African Festival of the Arts, and the Chicago Children’s Choir as their first full time Marketing and PR Director for over twelve years. She is a founding member and business manager for the Chatham Choral Ensemble, now in its 30th season.
Ms. Washington received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Chicago State University.
